About The Glass Merchants
We are fabricators and installers of aluminium windows, doors and shopfronts, and we repair the ones already fitted in homes and businesses.
Who we are
The Glass Merchants is a trading name of Doxa Glass Merchants (Pty) Ltd. We make aluminium windows, doors, folding and sliding systems, shopfronts and burglar bars, and we fit what we make. Qualified experts do the work, from measuring the opening to fitting the last seal.
We fabricate and fit Eagle, Crealco and Ultra systems. Between them, those systems cover the window and door types most homes and businesses ask for, which lets us suggest the one that suits the opening instead of the one we happen to stock.
Repairs are a large part of what we do. Rollers, tracks, locks, handles, hinges, seals, adjustments and glass on aluminium and wooden windows and doors can usually be fixed without replacing the frame, and we would rather do that when it is the right call. Our repairs cover the details.

What we do not do
- Quote without understanding the job. We ask for photos and sizes first, and book a free call-out when the job needs one.
- Replace a frame that can be repaired. If new rollers, a lock or a seal will fix it, that is what we quote for.
- Publish prices. No two openings are the same, so every quote is written for the job in front of us.
How we work
Every job starts with you telling us what is wrong or what you would like made. From there it follows the same four steps, whether it is a single stiff roller or a full set of new doors.

Our 6-month guarantee
Our workmanship and the parts we fit carry a 6-month guarantee. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did the job, such as a roller, lock, seal or a pane that wasn't fitted correctly, we come back and fix it at no charge.
The guarantee does not cover damage after we leave: impact (a ball through the glass, children swinging on a door), break-ins, storms, misuse, or work done by someone else.
This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
Homes and businesses
We work in houses, townhouses and estates, and in shops, offices and other commercial premises. At home the work is usually windows, sliding and folding doors, burglar bars and repairs to what is already there. On commercial jobs it is shopfronts, entrance doors, partitions and the servicing that keeps busy doors working.
The approach is the same for both: understand the opening, make the frame to fit it, and fit it properly, so that it opens, closes and locks the way it should for years.
